About PJ Parkinson's Support
PJ Parkinson's Support is a place to give and receive support for those living with Parkinson's and their caregivers. We come together to raise awareness, discuss concerns, and share mutual experiences on all aspects of Parkinson's.
Pegg Johnson's Story and PJ Parkinson's Support
Founded in 2015 by german licensed physical therapist Isabell Senft-Daniel, PJ Parkinson’s Support was created to fulfill Pegg Johnson’s wish for a community of support for Parkinson's patients. Inspired by Pegg’s desire for connection, the first support group in Blount County attracted 40 people, highlighting the need for education and community. Though Pegg passed away before the first meeting, her legacy lives on through programs offering meals, respite care, movement classes, support groups, and an annual symposium for healthcare providers. Today, the organization thrives through collaboration and partnership by serving the Greater Knoxville area as well as Chicagoland area of Chicago, IL by improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s.
